After ~4 years of not being run, the last 3 1/2 just sitting in my garage, my 1979 Buick Skylark is running again. Not coincidentally this happened shortly after I gave it to some old friends, Eric & Cheryl Walter. (When the car belonged to my father, Eric was the one that took the 327 (double-bump/camelback heads) engine out of Cheryl's 1966 Chevy Impala, had it cleaned up and overbored, put in a mild cam, larger valves (2.02/1.60), good dual plane manifold and headers and put it in the car my grandfather gave my father. Some time later my father sold the car to me for about what he had in it. I put in good ceramic coated headers, 3" exhaust (with high-flow catalytic converter & glass pack muffler), Holly ProJection fuel injection with closed loop setup, new brakes & suspension. And then the woodruff key that attached the harmonic balancer to the crankshaft sheared. Fixing this would be straightforward (6-8 hours of work was the initial estimate; it took between 5 and 6), but I was short on time. After buying my Corvette I wanted it out of the garage so I could fit my Jeep, Corvette & motorcycles in my 2 car garage. Eventually I was ready to pay to have it hauled away. I would prefer to sell or give it to someone that would appreciate it and play with it. I knew I didn't want to leave my Corvette out in the rain all winter long, and I told Eric. He, Cheryl and Linnea (their then 1 month old daughter) flew out. Eric drove back to Bozeman; Cheryl & Linnea flew back.
